Who We Are
Costello follows the Code of Ethics as outlined by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the National Society of Professional Engineers. COSTELLO provides the chemical engineering industry with innovative chemical and environmental engineering services, advanced and emerging process technologies, and regulatory compliance support that optimizes client expenditures and manpower requirements.
Costello provides engineering design and construction supervision to the chemical and biofuels industries. Our second-generation biodiesel plant known as BioflexplantSM handles free fatty acids with a solid catalyzed esterification pretreatment unit. We also provide front-end engineering design packages for our proprietary biosyngas and syngas purification technology known as COPureSM. Current projects also include biomass gasification and conversion to Fischer-Tropsch synthetic diesel.
Costello was founded by Rocky C. Costello, P.E., a chemical engineer, who has over 25 years experience in the chemical process industries and the hazardous waste business. With over 15 years at Rhône-Poulenc, his diverse background includes process engineering, project engineering, plant operations & troubleshooting, plant management, project management and sales management.
His extensive background includes specialty chemicals, pharmaceutical intermediates, ethylene dichloride, electrochemical cells for chlorine and caustic, sour gas processing, 4-ethoxysilicon, benzyl chloride, thiophene-2 acetyl chloride, titanium trichloride, fluid bed production of vanadium chlorides, hydrochloric acid and many others.
His background in environmental technologies includes hazardous waste incineration, spent sulfuric acid processing, hydrocarbon vapor incineration and various waste water treatment and air pollution control processes.
His background also includes RCRA permit application preparation.
Mr. Costello has also spent a number of years in the oil patch where he worked in the natural gas processing. Specifically the removal of hydrogen sulfide from natural gas and the conversion to sulfur using Aquaclaus Technology.
The Costello team consists of seasoned engineers who have worked in chemicals, refining, and natural gas processing. Many have worked in industrial settings while others came from big engineering firms. This diverse group of chemical and mechanical engineers create design packages that typically exceed client expectations. In addition we have a diverse group of disciplines that can handle your regulatory compliance issues and permitting needs. This diversity allows us to handle engineering projects and the permits required for making them operational.
